Wrists, Reviews and Far Too Many Videos

12 07 2008

Ta’áníku!

It’s time for another random update from the world of me :P

Firstly I want to apologise for the lack of actual text this past week or so. Unfortunately I had a nastly fall and sprained my wrist, so this has prevented me from being able to type efficiently. Fortunately, it was well enough to hold a camera though, thus the mass flood of videos. While I would love to say I’ve got an article or two lined up instead, but the fact is there’s more and more videos. So you have the visual pleasure of looking forward to Advert of The Week, a new Smashing Stage and a classic Smashing Stage that was requested by one of my subscribers on Youtube.

I’m also planning on doing my first Video Review soon. This will be for Toki Tori, which is fantastic fun! I’m currently in the process of collecting enough film, and then it needs editing and voicing over. Hopefully I can get this done for you sometime next week.

I’m also planning a review of Game Freak’s platformer Drill Dozer, which i’ve just managed to finish and possible a review of Okami. I’m also toying with a piece about the trends of familiarity within the market, and how the customers precieved safety in buying a title affects its sales performance. Of course theres also going to be my post-E3 wrap up, taking a look at all of Nintendo’s big announcements and my opinions on what has been going on.

Now then, as for the articles I promised and haven’t done yet. Firstly, i’m still planning on doing them at some point. As mentioned above, Toki Tori has now been changed into a video review. As for Final Fantasy Tactics Retrospective, i’m waiting until I get much further in the game in case there are still some more things I haven’t seen. The Evolution Of Rhythm Games has a rather large Pages document dedicated to it, filled with a random assortment of information and points that needs organising into a coherent article. I’m also waiting for my copy of Band Bros DX to arrive, which in my opinion plays quite a big role in the future of rhythm games and thus want to test it’s features before I write the piece. As for the Wiiware article, I don’t feel as strongly about it as I did before, but still have one or two interesting points. Therefore i’m going to wait till E3 to see what is said about WiiWare and then piece together some random babble that doesn’t really lead anywhere.

So that’s what’s been going on, and heres what you have to look forward to in the coming weeks:

  • Advert Of The Week: [To Be Decided]
  • Smashing Stages: Pie Factory
  • Smashing Stages: Plumbers Hill
  • E3 Wrap-Up
  • Review: Drill Dozer
  • Video Review: Toki tori
  • Review: Okami
  • The Evolution Of Rhythm Games
  • WiiWare Discussion
  • The Franchise Safety Net And It’s Affect On New Series
